Hummus Crab Cakes

Combine the delicious flavors of fresh crab and Fresh Cravings Garlic Hummus for truly unique crab cakes perfect as an appetizer or main dish.

  • 2 cups Fresh lump crab
  • 4 oz Fresh Cravings Garlic Hummus
  • 1 Shallot finely chopped
  • 1/2 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 cup Breadcrumbs
  • 1 tbsp Lemon juice
  • 1 large Egg (beaten)
  • 1 cup of Chopped parsley
  • 1/4 tsp Ground paprika
  • 1/8 tsp Cayenne pepper
  • Avocado & Lemon slices for topping


  1. Mix ½ cup breadcrumbs with the rest of the except crab in a large bowl until well mixed
  2. Add lump crab until well mixed
  3. Add the remainder of the breadcrumbs and mix until well incorporated
  4. Form crab cakes into palm sized circles and flatten slightly
  5. Spray non-stick frying pan with olive oil (or 1 teaspoon if no sprayer)
  6. Fry at medium low for about 3-4 minutes each side until golden brown
  7. Serve with Garlic hummus on top plus lemon slices and fresh avocado
